I taught IST 210 in my first semester in the College of IST. The comprehensive information on the IST Teaching site—sample syllabi, course materials and more—helped me tremendously in developing the course that meets objectives and achieves both breadth and depth.Sharon Huang College of IST Faculty

LAs are a bridge between the professor and students. They have gone through the course as students and become a valuable resource for students’ learning experience. They convey the student perspective to me in ways that current students may not feel comfortable doing. LAs are an essential component to my success in the classroom.

I teach a very interactive class in which students are working on programming assignments most of the time. The learning assistants are a big part in a course like this. They make it possible for students to engage in working on problems during class time. They are closer to students because they have taken the course recently and see the challenges from a student perspective. LAs are able to give insights to instructors and students, at the same time making our classrooms livelier and more productive. I strongly recommend working with the LA Program.

I taught IST 140 this past semester and was impressed by the College of IST tutoring support. Students often mentioned how helpful the tutor was in their learning.Mark Choman World Campus Faculty
